Frequently Asked Questions

How much are your classes?

Our drop-in rate is $18 for our regular classes, but we also have donation based classes each week. Some of our special classes or monthly classes may have a special rate. We also have a variety of packages, including an unlimited month and a $30 for 30 days unlimited package for new students, here.

What should I wear?

For our classes, we recommend you wear clothing you are comfortable moving in. For private therapies and the sauna, you may dress to your comfort level. For acupuncture appointments, please wear loose-fitting clothing.

What’s the Infrared Sauna?

You can learn more here.

Do I need to bring a towel for the sauna?

We request that you bring your own towel to dry off after the sauna. A towel is not required, but if you would like to buy one from us we have personal towels for sale in our shop.

Do you have a shower?

We do not. You’re welcome to clean up in our private bathrooms.

Do I have to take my clothes off for a massage?

Nope! You can undress to your comfort level or keep all your clothes on. There are many modalities such as movement re-education and cranio sacral therapy that may be done fully clothed. Our therapists can also provide extremity massages (hand/feet/head) if you are uncomfortable having your full body touched for any reason.

Do you do private classes?

Several of our therapists offer private lessons. We also provide private classes for groups. For information on private group classes, please click here.

Can I rent the studio for a party?

Yes! We’ve hosted birthday parties, bachelorette parties, team building parties, and more! For more information on private parties, click here.

I have an invisible special need. Can I still come to Special Needs Yoga?

Yes! This beginner introductory therapeutic yoga class includes practical techniques of movement, balance, relaxation, breath, sound vibration, presence, and mindfulness. Arrive in wheelchairs or on walkers, canes, or crutches. Those with invisible special needs are welcome. Caretakers welcome. All ages. All abilities. All cognitive levels. Joshua Saxton also teaches Special Needs Yoga at Latitude Arts and Employment Solutions.

I’ve never done yoga before. Can I still come to a class?

Yes! We have several classes which are appropriate for complete beginners and newer students. We recommend Gentle Yoga or Kundalini Yoga. Beginner Subtle Power Yoga is also appropriate for beginners, and tends to be most appropriate for those who enjoy a challenging class. We also offer Meditation, Breathwork, and Trauma informed yoga classes, which are appropriate for any level of student.

Can I just show up to a class or do I have to sign up ahead of time?

While it’s always a good idea to sign up ahead of time if you’re able, drop-ins for classes are welcome!

Do you have food?

We have a small selection of grab-n-go snacks and drinks available in our cafe area.

How much is a massage?

All our therapists are independent contractors with a variety of backgrounds and training certifications, and their rates vary slightly. You can expect to pay $100 for a 1-hour massage therapy session with most of our practitioners.

What does holistic mean anyway?

A holistic approach refers to looking at a person as a whole, including their diet, sleep habits, work life, home environment, daily routines, medications, etc. This way, we’re not “treating” the condition but rather considering all aspects of the individual to support a wellness process.

Is Centered a religious place?

No, Centered is not a religious place. However, some do find Centered to be part of their personal spiritual practice. Yoga is a personal wellness practice and we welcome practitioners of all faiths and spiritual practices.

Internship Program

Our interns commit to at least 6 months with us, during which time they work at the front desk and on their own heart projects. Many of our interns are fulfilling college credit hours and have gone on to become healthcare practitioners,  yoga instructors, massage therapists, and they often facilitate workshops or are involved in other on-site projects during their time here. It’s beautiful to watch them blossom during their internships with us and we are so grateful to be able to support them in pursuing their dreams and sharing the benefits of holistic health with our world.
