Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a medical practice focused on balancing energy in the body. It is used to prevent, diagnose, and treat disease, pain, and dysfunction as well as improving overall health and wellbeing.

Wendy Middleton-Bentley offers offers community acupuncture at Centered each Thursday afternoon between 2:30 and 6:30 on a first-come first served basis. Each session is $40.

Since 1999, Wendy has traveled the world studying multiple forms of internal medicine and natural healing. From Chang Mai, Thailand to Boone, North Carolina, she sought out individuals who were considered exceptional in their field, to gain experience and knowledge, and to further her pursuit in understanding the art and science of natural health.

When not traveling to study, Wendy worked as a field biologist for different government agencies, such as the National Park and Forest Service, as well as being a self-employed contractor specializing in endangered species and land management. She graduated from UNCA in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, concentrating in pollution control, with distinctions in undergraduate research. She is very familiar with the scientific method and approaches all forms of natural health and healing with an inquisitive mind.

In 2012, she completed her Masters degree in Acupuncture at Jung Tao School of Classical Chinese Medicine. She is currently a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Kentucky and the President of the Kentucky State Acupuncture Association. She is also a certified Reiki and Nuad Bo-Rarn (Thai massage) practitioner and a registered Yoga teacher. In her treatments, as well as her teachings, she likes to integrate different healing techniques that are practiced around the globe.
